Helping a Burmese Refugee Village
Rahab Ministries has started helping a small Burmese refugee village on the Myanmar Border. We have been taking food aid as well as clothing, school equipment and toys. The Bio Sand filters we put into the village have increased health by 80%. We have also been running children’s programs while we are there. Rahab Ministries is helping to support a Pastor that has moved into the village to nurture the growing church. The small church building had to added onto to fit everyone in.
Alex and another kiwi Andy went up to the village early in the week to finish the floor of the orphanage. It was a relief to arrive and find the 2 tonnes of paving slabs had already been transported inot the village. It took most of the week to complete, but it looks good.
On the Friday the rest of the Rahab team went up. They ran games, cooked lunch and took aid such as rice for every family, second hand clothing and food supplies for the orphanage. This was our last time to the village after working with the people for three years.

Reaching out to hurting women
Twice a week we visit a Patpong sex bar. Mondays & Thursdays so please pray for us on those nights. We have so much to be thankful for. Lum has joined Rahab; she is 25 years old & the outreach team has been visiting her in her bar. It is so encouraging when we see results of spending time in building relationships. She has fitted in well and is proving herself to be a good worker with a lovely friendly personality.
Every second Thursday night, we pay the bar fine for 2 women and bring them back to Rahab for a time of sharing. We have had some wonderful conversations about their work and how difficult it is for them. It leads to good discussion about Jesus as the Outreach team share the salvation story. Each time, I have seen women listening attentively and asking many questions.
